The purpose of this 40-hour mandatory security course developed by the Justice Institute of British Columbia, was to meet the training needs of security personnel, by providing standardised practical training for those who seek a career in security. The course prepares participants to carry out their mandate as security professionals in a safe, effective and professional manner. To provide basic knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of uniformed security guards. This course is required for licensing as a security patrol employee in British Columbia.

  • Keeping safe on the job  Number of Participants – Maximum 20 Certificate Expiry – JIBC annual license renewal
  • Certifying Body – Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC)
  • Duration – 40 hours Examination 2 hours
