Medical Laboratory Assistant
Casual – Various Locations Throughout Northern Health

Reporting to the Chief Technologist takes blood from patients, collects and prepares blood and other specimens for analysis; performs tests such as urine analysis and glucose monitoring and operates related equipment. Performs E.C.G.’s, specimen dispatch, filing and all clerical function of the Accession Department. Holter Monitor testing, and use of LIS efficiently. Attention to detail and multi-tasking a must.

To be successful for this position you must have grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Lab Assistant training program plus one (1) year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
